PM Orders Ministry to Study Instituting a Private Training Quota Under New Policy

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has ordered the Minister of Education to study instituting quotas for private institutions to provide free vocational training to citizens under a new government policy.

From 2023, the government has a new policy to provide vocational training to 1.5 million poor students, free of charge, to help increase their salaries.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated that a similar policy and quota for the private sector would also be convenient and would encourage further vocational training.

"This is a big problem, [but this training can make it easier] to find a job, because this helps our people gain professional skills to serve development," he said.

Prime Minister Hun Sen made this statement during the graduation ceremony for students of the University of Human Resources on Monday morning, 20 February 2023, at the OCIC Conference Hall in Phnom Penh.
